My first week is finally done! Thank goodness! The middle of the week was very tough because of our project for Design 1. And what made it even harder was we weren't exactly sure what they wanted for this project.
So basically we have to make a sculpture/thing in the natural environment. We can only use 2 natural materials, 1 man made material, and 1 fastener. So we are making these "teepees" made out of sticks, get increasingly higher and higher. At the lowest spot we have this rock underneath it that was already there. We were drawn to this space by the rock...the lone rock. :/ Poor rock. Lol, so we are using the teepees to represent how energy radiates out of this rock spreading throughout the space.
Okay enough being psychological....
Model...it's a rough one...didn't really have supplies....
Site documentation. So I collected photos, did a plan drawing of the site, did a drawing in elevation, and I did a figure ground drawing in elevation. I also did sketches of two different ideas, based off of our teepee design.
Some notes/drawings from a lecture for Design 1..
Here is a drawing from Drawing. We were working on figure ground drawings. So some students put some drawing boards together and made us do a figure ground drawing of it.
So aside from Drawing and Design, I enjoy all my other classes. I actually like physics right now...it's really easy! :) It is literally everything I did in high school. And she explains things well enough...wayyyyy better than high school.
Writing seems fun, but the readings take me forever and we seem to have a good work load. :/
Sustainability is pretty awesome but I'm having trouble with the program for our homework. It's online and has a lot of glitches.... Hopefully that gets straightened out.
Pathways Seminar also is cool. Don't know much about it yet since I only had it once before.
More posts later. :) feel free to comment.
